Sheep Creek National Geological Area
This is a nationally significant geological area. Ancient formations overlain by layers of younger rock flexed upward with the rise of the Uinta Mountains about 70 to 40 million years ago. It is a sight to see only 15 minutes away from Nick’s Last Resort RV Park.
Flaming Gorge Dam
Open year-round, but with reduced hours in winter. Exhibits share the history and operations of the water facilities. Guided tours of the Dam are given throughout the summer. Cal for a schedule (435-885-3135). Only 45 minutes away from the town of Manila.
Green River
Go fly fishing or rafting through rugged canyons below the Flaming Gorge Dam. Two main launch areas, several backcountry campgrounds, a shoreline trail and year-round fly fishing. Guided trips available. Only a 40 minute drive from Nick’s Last Resort RV Park.
Red Canyon recreation complex, a destination unto itself lies high above the reservoir at the southern end of the Flaming Gorge. The sites offer commanding views of the 700 wide and 1400 deep Red Canyon that frames the Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Open daily from mid-May through mid-September. Exhibits share the areas flora, fauna, and frontier history. Only a 45 minute from Manila and you will be enjoying the amazing views at Red Canyon.

Vernal is 63 miles from the town of Manila. Vernal, Utah is the site of the largest quarry of prehistoric Jurassic dinosaur bones. More than 10,000 petroglyphs and pictographs remain in Dinosaur National Monument from the Fremont Indians more than 1,000 years ago. Only 60 minutes away and you can be in Dinosaur Land.
